REMOVAL OF GM MODE

As 'All Good Things Must Come To An End' so was GM Mode it was removed in SvR 2009. The Era of the best mode in the game came to end with a short career of only 3 years in the series and that too without any enjoyable up-gradation. The experiment of mixing GM Mode with WWE 24/7 Mode (SvR 2008) resulted in an absolute disaster for Developers. If that was their was their mistake than they had just made a bigger one with removing it.

GM Mode had become the USP of the Game since its introduction and the sales, reviews & user comments of SvR 2009 proved it. Instead of bringing back GM Mode in SvR 2010 developers substituted the GM Mode with other modes such as,

'STORY DESIGNER MODE (SvR 2010)',

 'UNIVERSE MODE (1.O SvR 2011)'

 &

'UNIVERSE MODE (2.O WWE 12)'

All of them didn't stand a chance in front of GM Mode. The main thing that all those mode lacked was the rating (i.e. 5 Stars) from A.I (Artificial Intelligence) to matches played & show booked by players. Ratings from A.I was the best thing in GM Mode which gave the players immense satisfaction. Satisfaction is key for lasting appeal for any Game. This satisfaction was not given by other modes which were introduced as substitutes to GM Mode.

BRING BACK GM MODE

Lets hope that developers will bring back GM Mode in WWE13 and not bully GM Mode Fans by introducing another new mode. As a fan of GM Mode I am not against new modes but i want GM Mode also with other new modes in any new game hence forth. I still don't know the reason behind the removal of GM Mode and I don't support it also. Why to remove a mode which has a lasting appeal of at least a year and also has a want for future GM Mode with up-gradation in it. As for now I am really missing GM Mode.

GM MODE IN SVR 2008

After two years of its introduction in the series, GM Mode fans hoped that this year they would get what they have been expecting from the Mode since SvR 2006. GM Mode in the previous Game (i.e. SvR 2007) had very minimal up-gradation, due to which its Lasting Appeal was diminished.

This year GM Mode is mixed, merged, combined, collaborated, embedded with the new mode WWE 24/7 'Confused' well this years GM Mode also gives the same experience to the players. WWE 24/7 is a mode similar to Season Mode in the previous SvR Games, like Season Mode this mode revolves around one WWE Superstar, the only difference is that this time players will have the control of their daily routine also. As the Title of the game goes 'Live The Life of a WWE Superstar' the WWE 24/7 Mode truly keeps up with its name, players will actually feel that they are Living the Life of a WWE Superstar. Players will have to manage various aspect of their WWE Superstar such as Training, Resting, Photo Shoots, etc.

WWE 24/7 Mode is awesome when it comes to playing with a single superstar but it becomes awful when it is played with GM Mode. While playing GM Mode in WWE 24/7 it gives many unnecessary duties to the GM such as choosing the training & its type for the superstars while all other duties of the GM remains the same. This year also GM Mode has no specific up-gradations due to which this year GM Mode is the worst of all. The lasting appeal of the Game is Nill in my opinion.

Developers of the Game have ruined their best mode in this years game. They had an opportunity to make GM Mode their USP for the years to come but instead of capitalizing on the opportunity developers ruined it with minimal up-gradation and mixing with new modes which has no lasting appeal.

GM Mode in WWE SVR 2007 PS2

After the introduction of GM Mode in WWE SVR 2006, this mode opened a whole new way of playing and experiencing a WWE game. Due to its superb introduction the expectation from the mode had reached new heights. Everyone was wondering what more could this mode has to offer in the next installment of the series that is WWE SVR 2007 PS2.

GM Mode in SVR 2007 was upgraded with new features such as Power 25, Clean & Dirty, Story Writers, Heat & Velocity, etc. but still these up-gradation didn't meet the expectation which GM Mode 2006 had left in the minds of the players. Even with very little up-gradation in the mode game is still playable, but the lasting appeal has diminished.

Lets Take a Look on GM Mode in WWE SVR 2007

Review:-
Mostly this year's GM Mode is similar to last year game, in fact last year GM Mode is still better. This year GM Mode is not completely lousy its still playable and also has new upgraded features such as:-

Power 25:-
In this superstars of both brands are ranked from 1-25 at the beginning of the Mode. Starting from the World Heavy Weight Champion or WWE Championt moving to U.S. Champion or Intercontinental Champion, WWE Tag Team Champion or World Tag Team Champion, Cruise Weight Champion & so on. Superstars ranks in Power 25 changes as per their winnings or losing of matches irrespective weather the superstar is a Champion or Non Champion.

 Clean & Dirty:-
Superstars involved in rivalries must have one clean superstar and one dirty superstar otherwise rivalries won't start between them. Superstars must be defined as Clean or Dirty at the beginning of the GM Mode and players can only change them from 'Clean to Dirty' or 'Dirty to Clean' by running a promo in the show.

Writers:-
This time players must hire Writers to write a story for the rivalry, actually there is a list of stories to choose from, every story has a price and predefined stars. Player must buy them in order to get good rating to the show. In my opinion this is just for name sake it does not have a huge impact in the playing of the Mode.

Heat & Velocity:-
These are two bonus shows for each brand for superstars with low popularity levels. Setting-up Matches for these shows are optional as ratings of these show doesn't have any impact on the ratings of the main show.

Summary:-
Overall it has some new features which will at first impress players, but soon some players will realize that with their introduction players have lost some of the GM powers which they had in earlier game.

Pro's:-
  •  Cut scenes at the end of the WWE Calendar Year in which Vince Mc Mahan gives the 'GM of the Year  Trophy' to the GM of the winning Brand.
  • Updated Roster.
Con's:-
  • There is only one cut scene in the mode which really not enough for the mode, if the game had more cut-scenes than this game would keep the players engaged for more time.
  • GM cannot put Championship Title on the line with superstars not in the top 5 ranks of Power 25.
  • Morale level of the superstars who are not in the Power 25 also get affected due to not getting chance of the Title Shot. In this GM cannot help that Superstar.
  • Computer GM Brand Superstars Fatigue Level is unaffected even after participating in big matches like 'HELL IN A CELL', ' LAST MAN STANDING', 'IRON MAN MATCH', etc.

GM Mode in WWE SvR 2006 PS2

The GM Mode in WWE SvR 2006 gives the game an awesome new genre of strategy along with action. This new mode gives players a chance to be General Manager (GM) of their favorite brand and compete with the other brand GM in winning most of the fan base. The brand which has more fans at the end of the WWE Calendar year is awarded with the GM of the Year Trophy.
That may sound easy but its not as easy as pinning your opponent '123' in the ring, as most of the players are used to the action element of the game all over years of the SvR series. This year game players must become strategic to win the GM Mode which requires managing ability of money, fan base, superstars contracts, morale, fatigue level, popularity & injury status and many more.
Once the player has selected a favorite brand the first thing to do is drafting a roster or to play with the existing roster of that brand. Its better to draft one's own roster because in this way player will get a chance to choose between their favorite superstars. The list of superstars is shown according to the default popularity levels, remember that other GM will also get chance to choose the superstar one by one i.e. firs player will have the chance of choosing one superstar than A.I(Computer) GM of the other brand will choose from the list. Player must always choose superstar with higher popularity levels because it helps in getting better rating of the match in which they are participating and also the overall rating of the show for the week.
Money management is very important so players must spend their money wisely. Players will need money to do various thing in GM Mode such as Match Cost, Rivalry, PPV Promos & superstar contracts, etc. Money in the game can be earned by advertising promo, merchandise sales & live attendance. Care must be taken while spending money on superstar contracts, only superstars with higher popularity levels must be given contracts up to 6 months or 9 months and superstars with low popularity levels must be signed for 5 weeks or 3 months. Money management feature is so new to the game that players will feel that are playing a strategic game of city building or so, this is only one of the many features of this mode which will give players both strategic game pleasure as well as action game pleasure making it one of the best modes of this game in the whole series of SvR.
Being the GM of the brand players will have to setup weekly matches, rivalries, main event, in order to compete with the other GM player must put the best show to win the fan base from other brand. After the end of week both shows rating can be seen in the WWE News section of the game. According to the rating the number of fans are shifted from lower rating show to the higher rating one. A.I also gives rating for each match on the show. Ratings is the only thing which is necessary for the success of the GM in GM mode. Player must keep a good eye on the rivalries status, popularity level & most importantly to use different types matches on different spots each week, in this way their show will always get good ratings.
Injuries can happen at any time in the WWE and also in the game. Players must not put superstars in big matches like HELL IN CELL, LAST MAN STANDING, etc. frequently as this increase the Fatigue level and put superstars at more risk of being injured. There are 2 types of injury in the game i.e. Minor Injury & Sidelining Injury, normally a superstar will get minor injuries more than sidelining injuries. If a superstar has minor injury he will still be able to compete, but if the superstar has a sidelining injury then he will not be able to compete for weeks. Players must be careful with minor injuries as they have the potential to turn into sidelining injury. Yes this mode is so real that it brings each and every aspect of WWE Wrestling to the game.
Every Superstar in the game has its own default popularity level at the beginning of GM Mode. Popularity level of a superstar gets affected by various things in the mode such as, Wining a Championship Belt or Wining consecutively every week will increase the popularity level of the superstar in the same way losing matches every week or sitting out of matches for more than 2 weeks consecutively will decrease the popularity level of that superstar. Decreasing popularity level will also affect the Morale Status of the superstar.
Morale Status of the superstar is also affected by various other thing in the GM Mode such as, not getting tilte shots, losing matches, sitting out of Matches and not getting contract extensions, etc. If anything is affecting to the superstar morale status more severely then that superstar will inform the player by Email in the GM Mode main menu.
Managing superstars popularity levels, fatigue levels and morale status will make the player feel that the superstar is alive and wants the player to take the decision to solve its problem. This is something the Fans of SvR series have never experience before and will love the GM Mode for it.
These are just a few features which I have covered, there are tons and tons of other features in this magnificent new mode called GM Mode. Once the Player will get along with this mode they'll never want to play any other mode or even a single exhibition match which gives no rating even u play it excellently. The satisfaction that the player will experience in the form ratings to their Managing is immeasurable and that's what makes GM Mode unique and a lasting mode for the years to come.

GM Mode Introduction in WWE SVR 2006 GAME

For those of you who have been playing WWE SVR (WWE Smackdown Vs Raw) gaming series over the years since it was first introduced as WWE Smackdown for PS1, all of you must have seen numerous changes and upgrades in the following series of the game.
Each and every year the game developers upgraded the game roster, features, themes and even game modes. The best upgrade in the game was the introduction of the GM Mode in SvR 2006 (PS2). This mode really gave the game the lasting appeal for the years to come, for the first time players could actually experience the managing aspect of the WWE wrestling.
GM Mode allows you to be a General Manager of either Raw or Smackdown brand and compete with other brand GM for WWE Fans. Once you select your favorite brand, the first thing you need to do as the GM is to draft your own roster or play with the existing roster of the game for that brand. After that you must manage your superstars contracts on your roster, in this you will notice that for the first time you can actually see your superstars Popularity status, Fatigue Level, Morale and Injury Status. This is some thing which you would have never seen in any previous game, from this only one can see the realism of the mode offered to you by the game developers and programmers.
